Ordway Center opened in 1985 and began to host theater, dance, music, family events and educational programs.  The Center holds a 1,900 seat Main Hall, the 306 seat McKnight Theatre, and two large rehearsal halls.  Ordway Center features the planet Ordway Target season, Education at Ordway Center, the Flint HIlls International Children's Festival, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Schubert Club, and the Minnesota Opera.

Directions to the Ordway Center For Performing Arts:
From Downtown Minneapolis: Take 94 to St Paul, exiting at 10th Street. Bearing left, follow 10th Street to the first stoplight and turn right on St Peter. Proceed on St Peter for six blocks to Fourth Street and turn right on Market Street. The entrance to the Amhoist Parking Ramp is right on Market Street.

From the Minneapolis/St Paul Airport: Follow 494 and Minnesota Highway 5 to St Paul, taking the Shepard Road exit and turning left on Shepard Road. Follow Shepard Road five miles to downtown St Paul, and turn left on Chestnut Street to enter downtown St Paul. Follow Chestnut four blocks and turn right onto West 7th Street. Follow West 7th Street two blocks and turn right onto 5th Street. The Civic Center will be to your right. Follow 5th around the Civic Center and turn right onto Washington Street. The Ordway is located on Washington between 4th and 5th Streets.

From West St Paul: Follow Smith Avenue north across the high bridge and turn right onto West 7th Street. Follow West 7th Street for seven blocks and turn right onto Fifth Street. The Civic Center will be to your right. Follow Fifth around the Civic Center and turn right onto Washington Street. The Ordway is located on Washington between 4th and 5th Streets.

From South St Paul: Follow Highway 3 across the Lafayette Bridge and enter downtown St Paul on East 7th Street, and turn left on Wacouta Street. Proceed one block on Wacouta Street and turn right onto East 6th Street. Proceed nine blocks on 6th Street and turn left on Washington Street. The Ordway is located on Washington between 4th and 5th Streets.

From East St Paul: Take 94 to St Paul, exiting at East 6th Street. Proceed 11 blocks on 6th Street to Washington Street and turn left. The Ordway is located on Washington between 4th and 5th Streets.

From the Northern Suburbs or St Paul and Stillwater: Take 35E to St Paul, exiting at Wacouta Street. Follow Wacouta one block and turn right onto 9th Street. Proceed on 9th Street for eight blocks and turn left onto St Peter. Proceed on St Peter for one block, then make a diagonal right turn (not a hard right turn) onto Washington Street and proceed two blocks. The Ordway is located on Washington Street between 4th and 5th Streets.
